SCULPTURE AND MATTER · AUTHORIAL MINIMALISM
When furniture stops being a backdrop and becomes a protagonist — between nude and walnut
In the hall of Casa FZ, a white helical sculpture rests on a bed of black stones, silhouetted against a travertine marble wall illuminated by recessed spotlights. Marcato understands that transition spaces are as important as the main rooms — and that a door mimicked in dark wood veneer, with invisible joints and embedded hardware, is itself art applied to function.

The kitchen is the project's center of gravity: entirely in nude lacquer with linear lighting embedded in the upper profile of the cabinets, creating a golden halo that runs along the entire wall. 10mm aluminum profiles with 2700K LED strip — warm enough to enhance the nude tone without over-gilding. The double island organizes the space with sobriety: one for preparation, the other for service, both aligned with surgical precision.

The doors were produced in 20mm MDF with horizontal channel milling: 3mm wide, 2mm deep. Invisible from a distance, present to the touch. What defines Casa FZ is consistency — each space converses with the previous one in tone and intention. Marcato cabinetry was executed with the logic of the best European projects: beauty lies in what has been removed, not in what has been added.
