The Disappearing Front

The cabinet with pocket doors operates on a simple principle: everything inside needs to function precisely; everything outside needs to disappear. The doors slide laterally into the cabinet's own body, eliminating the space-consuming opening arc that disrupts circulation.

At Marcato, the slides use aluminum tracks with silent bearings and damping at both ends. The result is a door that moves with the right weight—neither too light nor too heavy—and stops exactly where it should.

The Interior as a Project

Behind the minimalist fronts, every inch is planned. Shelves with 32mm adjustability, custom-made drawers with dividers, niches dimensioned for specific boxes, folders, or objects. LED lighting with a presence sensor reveals the contents and creates a user experience that goes beyond mere function.
