SOLID WOOD DOORS | when entrance and design
The door as the first gesture of the project
Before the furniture, before the cladding, there is the door. It is the first physical contact with an environment — the weight in the hand, the sound when closing, the texture under the fingers. A massive wooden door communicates all this before any words. At Marcato, each door is produced from selected noble woods — walnut, oak, cumaru — with individually chosen grains. No two doors are identical, because no two trees are identical.
Beyond aesthetics: insulation and durability
Solid wood offers what no substitute can replicate with the same fidelity: real acoustic insulation, natural thermal regulation, and durability measured in generations, not years.
The European hardware we use — soft-close hinges, mortise locks, pivot systems — completes the experience. A Marcato door is dated with the expertise of those who know that the engineering is there, but doesn't need to be seen.

The modular line: precision with flexibility
For projects that require agility without compromising standards, Marcato has developed a modular line of doors with standardized frames in widths from 450mm to 1200mm and heights up to 2200mm — all in solid wood, all with the same level of finish as the fully custom-made pieces.
It's a solution for those who want the nobility of solid wood with the practicality that the pace of construction demands.
